Upper Canada College and the benefactor of the Willis S. McLeese Canadian Debating Fund, Rob McLeese, are pleased to announce that Rudi Lof has been appointed as the McLeese Chair in Canadian Debating. The McLeese Chair works closely with the Canadian Student Debating Federation.

Rudi will support and advance student debating and public speaking at the high school level by developing outreach programs and facilitating access to resources and training workshops for students throughout the country.

Rudi is an accomplished debater who has participated in the World Universities Debating Championship, the Canadian National Debate Championship and the Central Canadian Championships. He was the Hart House IV top speaker and the Chancellor’s Cup champion.

As well, he is a passionate proponent of debating who has served as the vice-president of the Ontario Student Debating Union, president of the York Debating Society and founder and president of the new Osgoode Debate Society.
