Team Canada 2015
Team Canada 2015 development squad has had a busy year representing Canadian debate at several international tournaments and US invitational appearances.
The team has competed in two international tournaments to date: the Pan American Championships (Claremont, California) and the EurOpen Championships (Germany). At both events, the team advanced to the grand finals and claimed the top speaker title.
In addition to these events, Team Canada was also invited to attend two invitational events in the US; the Calvin Coolidge Gala dinner in New York City and the Old Parkland Debates in Dallas, Texas.
Coach Veenu Goswami has confirmed that the following team members will represent Canada at the 2015 World Schools Debate Championships to be held in Singapore this coming July:

Veenu been involved in competitive debate since junior high and is currently the president of Hart House Debate. During this time, Veenu has won numerous titles and top speaker awards at tournaments all around the world. As a member of the Canadian team that won WSDC 2010 in Qatar, Veenu was Canada’s top speaker (5th ) on the speakers tab. He has continued to support Team Canada debate by judging at the national tryouts (2011-2013) and attending the summer training camps of subsequent teams. On the university circuit, Veenu has won all three Canadian title tournaments (the Leger Cup, the British Parliamentary Championships and Nationals), and placed at the top of the tab in each. Internationally, he was the top speaker at the 2012 Oxford IV, won the top speaker award at the 2012 Yale IV, and was a finalist and 2nd place speaker at the 2012 Cambridge IV. In his final year of studies at UofT, Veenu also manages to find time to serve on the CSDF Board as an External Director (Alumni).
