Manitoba – 2019

The 2019 National Seminar will be hosted in Morden, Manitoba from Wednesday, September 25th to Monday, September 30th, 2019.  Please note that September 25th and 30th are travel days.

The theme for this year’s seminar is The Rural / Urban Divide. This theme is very important for a number of reasons. All too often, stereotypes get in the way of defining the cultural ethos of Canada’s small towns, villages, First Nations, as well as its large cities. Although these locations have diverse cultures, values, and political and geopolitical outlooks, they also share similar problems with adapting to modern issues ranging from changes in demographics to challenges with the environment, to adapting to technology, to establishing relevance with today’s economy. Perhaps our very different geographical population bases are not so different after all?

Each Member has been assigned a total for their delegation to the Seminar. Based on the number assigned to you, please select in this order, one delegate for each of the three linguistic categories; if you have remaining spots choose the next one from either French or Bilingual and the remaining delegates from any category. Should you require additional spots, you may request them and every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

The 2019 Manitoba invitation can be found here! (when available)

SPONSORSHIP ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The CSDF and our Host Province could not have provided such a unique experience for students and chaperones without the generous support of our sponsors.

As for previous Seminars, the CSDF has secured a grant from the Government of Canada’s Exchanges Canada program which will subsidize travel costs for delegates, as well as one adult per province or territory. This generous contribution will allow many students who could otherwise attend for financial reasons to participate in the Seminar.
